This website is dedicated to the career of the actor and writer Barry Brown (1951-1978). One of the best and underrated actors of the 1970s.

Barry was an actor and writer who had a great love and respect for films. He was also a noted film historian and contributed many articles to cult magazines including "Castle of Frankenstein", "Cult Movies" and "Films in Review," as well as contributing towards many published works of movie memorabilia working with the writer Calvin T. Beck.

This website commemorates his achievements including photographs, articles and original material solely relating to his career. Barry worked with many great names including Rene Auberjonois, David Birney, Jeff Bridges, Bette Davis, Bradford Dillman, Faye Dunaway, Robert Duvall, Britt Ekland, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Lou Gossett, jr, Heather Menzies, Mildred Natwick, Cliff Robertson, John Savage, Cybill Shepherd and James Woods not to mention directors such as Robert Benton, Peter Bogdanovich and Joe Dante.

In order to compile this site I have been able to obtain resource from Barry's brother Jim, to whom I am greatly indebted. Therefore, this website will be able to correct a few factual errors from the current listings on the Internet Movie Database website.

Many thanks to Marvin Jones who helped provide background for the biography page and also donated the accompanying sheet music (on the Tribute webpage), written especially for Barry and photos #38 & 39 on the Gallery.
